New Make-Up at Sutherlands Hair and Beauty
Sutherlands Hair and Beauty consistently search for the products most sought after by our customers. This year, we travelled the length of the country to IMATS (International Make-Up Artist Trade Show) in London in search of the top make-up ranges available on the market. Our finds are now proudly featured in our salon! Coupled with our £60, 90 minute makeup lesson (the cost of which is fully redeemable against makeup purchases of the same price and above) we offer the best in makeup choices in the area. Here are our picks with more ranges on they way:
Encased in beautiful vintage packaging, Bèsame Cosmetics are the epitome of 1950’s glamour. The semi-matte finish lipsticks- available in twelve Hollywood inspired shades- has proved immensely popular in our salon thanks to their high pigment and budge proof durability. Enriched with vitamins A, E and C as well as nourishing aloe and green tea, this product is a must have for anyone seeking a lip colour that will last without feathering or fading throughout the day.
For those seeking subtle colour, Crimson Rouge a tint for both lips and cheeks is an ideal choice. The concentrated cream is also designed to endure a full day without budging providing lips and cheeks with a natural flush of colour.
Set your make-up in place with the Bèsame Cashmere Powder. Available in four shades, the powder can be used dry or wet for a smooth and flawless finish.
Beautifully designed in gold and reds and held within an individual velvet pouch, Bèsame cosmetics are a beautiful gift and attractive addition to any dressing table or make-up bag.
HD Brows Make-up
HD Brows also offer the exclusive HD Brows make-up range – a capsule collection of beautiful blushers, powders and palettes to suit every skin tone, along with professional HD Brows brushes for flawless application.
Sutherlands Hair and Beauty currently have three HD Brow stylist and with a brow fan base including Helen Mirren, Penelope Cruz, The Saturdays, Nicole Sherzinger – here’s what Cosmopolitan had to about this brand new make-up range…
‘When I met Nicole Scherzinger in 2012, I enquired after her brows. Nobody touches them, ever!she said. I don’t want anyone to. I do them myself.”
Clearly, that was until she met Nilam Patel, the woman behind HD Brows, a 7-step â€eyebrow makeover’ that’s quietly been taking over the universe. Since she got her hands on Nicole backstage at the X Factor this year, the singer’s been hooked. I convinced her to try a fuller brow,Nilam says. Nicole insisted her brows wouldn’t grow in, but I told her they would. I also told her to â€fake it until you make it,’ which has become one of my mottos. With the right treatment and products, anyone can have amazing brows.”
The Saturdays are avowed fans of the system, and so are Little Mix, Mel C and Emeli SandĂ©. But its appeal isn’t limited to English popstrels. PenĂ©lope Cruz has declared she â€only wants HD Brows’, Eva Longoria is a convert. Rihanna has instagrammed a pic of herself and her HD Brows Palette, and Helen Mirren is a fan. You can’t buy that kind of publicity.
Not capitalising on a success story like this would be criminal, so Nilam is branching out into makeup, and not just with the odd product. She calls it a â€capsule collection for red carpet glamour’, but the extensive range of foundations, primers, liners, eye & brow palettes, lip colours, brushes, and so on looks anything but â€capsule’ to me.
Developed with makeup artist Francesca Neil, who’s toured with Girls Aloud and is a veteran on tv shows like X Factor, Strictly and Britain’s Got Talent, this is hard-working makeup; it was developed to make you look amazing under even the most challenging circumstances.
We call it â€Red Carpet’ makeup because that is what we’re going for: movie star perfection that holds up under the glare of any spotlight. It is glamorous but the shades are natural and flattering. We wanted makeup to help women women create a seriously enhanced version of themselves.”
A lot of these products have been road-tested for two years by the duo’s celeb clients (among them One Direction, who -whisper it- use the Brow Colourfix wands to fill out little patches in their stubble”) as well as â€civilian’ (to use Liz Hurley’s term) ones; Nilam has been quietly selling some of the makeup from her website all along, and Francesca uses it on set. The foundation is currently used on the â€Splash’ contestants, because it won’t come off in the pool.Hard-wearing indeed.
Despite its long-wearing credentials (and, frankly, to my surprise), the makeup isn’t thick and cakey, but feather-light and easy to blend. I wanted Tom Ford quality at Benefit prices, says Nilam.’
