MEET THE TEAM

Bruce at Sutherlands Hair and Beauty

Bruce

Director

Bruce and Marion are often still in the salon but have taken a step towards retirement. Bruce began hairdressing at the tender age of 8 and over 60 years later, he hasn't lost his passion for his job. A wizard with the scissors, he has an enviable collection, which due to their sheer number featured in a local newspaper. Career highlights include working for Vidal Sassoon in London at 17 and having the honour of cutting a fair few celebrity heads of hair, though Bruce considers all of his clients to be celebrities in their own right. Most of his clients know of his love of Wella styling product Pearl Styler, a unisex product to create texture and hold, and most importantly his joy at becoming a grandad to identical twin boys. Already he is passing on his passions of biking, boating and hill walking to his favourite little people - Austin and Will.

Marion

Salon Owner

Bruce and Marion are often still in the salon but have taken a step towards retirement. Marion met husband Bruce when she booked in for a haircut as a teen in 1974, and as they say - the rest is history. Married a year later, Bruce and Marion became partners in Sutherlands in 1978 and have worked together ever since. Marion is actually a qualified hairdresser and beauty therapist, but now focuses on client care and retail. Shopping is a big passion for Marion and clients love her collection of handbags, jewellery and clothing available in the salon. Known for always having 'her face on', Marion loves the Delilah makeup collection and can't live without Wella's Luxe Oil to add shine and condition to her hair. When not in the salon, Marion is very much family focused and especially adores her twin grandchildren.

Joanna

Director Hair Stylist

Jo followed in dad Bruce's hairdressing footsteps, training at the prestigious Sassoon Academy in London. Now Director Hair Stylist, Jo enjoys the challenge of a quirky style but also loves a classic sharp bob. Since embracing her hair's own natural curl, she’s developed a real passion for cutting and enhancing natural curly hair. Away from the salon, Jo loves exploring the outdoors with her family and heading to the hills.
