Salon Updates – Screening and PPE

We have been open again for appointments since July and it has been an eventful time! Our team have adjusted well to ensure that all our new measures are carried out efficiently so that we can work safely within the new guidelines for our industry. Clients who have visited us over the past 2 months have sent us fantastic, positive, feedback and it is really encouraging to read. It has been great to get back to normal and to carry out all of the treatments that we love. We thank you for your loyalty and patience.

As a salon we would just like to remind our clients of the Covid-19 screening questions prior to attending your appointment in the salon. We would also like to add that we require all clients who have tested positive for Covid-19, that they will require a patch test for all hair colour services in the salon prior to their next appointment. Patch tests should be carried out at least 48 hours prior to attending your appointment and can booked by calling reception on 01382 542369 or online at www.sutherlandshairandbeauty.com

Screening Questions

  • Please reschedule your appointment if you answer yes to any of the following questions.
  • Have you tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 7 days?
  • Are you waiting for a Covid-19 test or the results
  • If you have recently returned from a foreign location, please check that the country that you have travelled from does not require you to isolate for 14 days on your return.

Do you have any of the following symptoms:

  • New, continuous cough*
  • High temperature or fever?
  • Loss of, or change in, sense of smell or taste?
  • Do you live with someone who has either tested positive for COVID-19 or had symptoms of COVID-19 in the last 14 days?

*A new, continuous cough means coughing for longer than an hour, or three or more coughing episodes in 24 hours. If the patient usually has a cough, it may be worse than usual.

PPE Charge

We have introduced a temporary PPE charge at Sutherlands Hair and Beauty. This is to cover a variety of factors resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic.

The charges are as follows:

  • £3 for the majority of hair and beauty treatments
  • £1.50 for children and beauty treatments of 30 minutes or less
  • 50p for clients who attend the salon on a weekly basis or are having a course of beauty treatments such as CACI.

The reasons for this as are follows:

The safety of our clients and our team is paramount and we have introduced new measures to try and keep you safe.  The PPE charge is to simply cover the cost of the PPE and all of the safety measures we have introduced into the salon. This charge will of course be removed as soon as these measures are no longer needed.

Costs incur include:

  • Due to distancing restrictions we are currently working at a reduced capacity.
  • We are now employing additional staff members to sanitise the salon between client appointments.
  • PPE items including cleaning products, sanitising solutions, screens, masks, visors, disposable gloves, aprons and towels.

We understand that this is an extremely trying time for everyone and have fought hard to keep our business open in the midst of many closures and redundancies. The cost of preparing the salon to meet the required health and safety guidelines has been significant and we will continue to do our upmost to protect you during these difficult times whilst maintaining our high stand of service.
